Lourdes lake
A unique spot
Sole glacial lake of low altitude in this part of the Pyrenees, the lake of Lourdes is formed by the accumulation, behind the moraine of the old glacier of Argelès, of the water coming from the Gave of Pau.
Various activities
Surrounded by ancient legends, the lake is today turned to the welcome of walkers, golfers, fishermen and boaters.
Hiking and biking trails, 18-hole golf course, dining area, children's playground and a picnic area : everything is done to make the stay pleasant.
The mountainous background, accentuating the natural character of the site, contributes greatly to the pleasure of sailing !
The peat bog, a "Natura 2000" area
The western part of the lake, a swampy area, is now a protected site with a wide range of landscapes and shelter for several rare animal and plant species.
